Nancy Cleman has been appointed as an independent member of the Board of Directors of the Société de la Place des Arts.
The Société de la Place des Arts is a public institution whose mission is to promote the performing arts and make it possible to perform shows in its concert halls. It manages and operates the largest multidisciplinary performing arts complex in Canada. Place des Arts has six concert halls at its downtown Montréal site, including the Maison symphonique, operated in partnership with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and the private sector. Place des Arts is also the owner and manager of the Amphithéâtre Fernand-Lindsay in the Lanaudière region. As a promoter, producer or broadcaster, and aiming to both foster Québec creativity and host artists from around the world, Place des Arts presents more than 1,000 events a year in its halls, attended by nearly one million spectators. To carry out its activities, Place des Arts has developed numerous local and international partnerships and works daily in close collaboration with its three resident companies, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, the DUCEPPE theater company, and the Opéra de Montréal, as well as with the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal.
