LRMM raised more than $40,000 for cancer research through the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer

July 22, 2016

The LRMM team met the challenge in raising more than $40,000 and riding their bikes over 230 km in extremely difficult weather conditions!

As part of the 6th edition of the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer which took place this past July 9th and 10th, a team of fifteen cyclists rode for two days in extremely difficult weather conditions and still managed to meet the challenge and reach their objective. The LRMM team, now having participated in the ride for a fourth year, has raised a total of $193,745 for cancer research.

“We had to face some pretty unpleasant weather with 35 km/h winds against us, rain and a cold front that required us to make use of thermal blankets to not get hypothermia, all the while riding closely in groups that suffered much more than they normally would have to get to Quebec City. It was a true challenge this year that we still managed to get through with a smile,” mentions Sarah Laplante Bazzi, the team co-captain.

The proceeds that were raised through this event will be used for cancer research, care and preventative programs through the Jewish General Hospital and its partners throughout the Province.

“We want to thank all of the members of the firm who supported us in raising the funds as well as our sponsors without whom we would never have been able to amass as much,” specifies Philippe Dumaine, co-captain.

The team was comprised of the twelve following firm members: Larisa Albu, Marie-Pier Caza, Karine Chartrand, Philippe Dumaine, Maxime Gervais, Pierre Girard, Julien Grenier, Sara Laplante Bazzi, Jean-Claude Jr. Lemay, Simon Rainville, Vanessa Vallières, James Woods and three members from outside of the firm: Christina Bresciani, Marie-Lise Gingras and Josiane Paiement.
