SENIORS’ FLOWER DAY
This coming May 11th, around thirty women from our firm (lawyers, notaries, paralegals and directors) will be heading to Résidence Piero-Corti, a senior citizens’ home, to brighten up the residents’ day by distributing bouquets of flowers. Members of the LRMM au féminin team, armed with aprons, scissors and gloves, will cut and trim re-purposed flowers in order to prepare and distribute the hundred or so bouquets, all of which will be equally lovely and colourful. The team of volunteers is excited to spend time with the seniors, chat and listen to their stories. |
In order to make this event a reality, LRMM au féminin partnered with Floranthropy, a leading charitable organization in Canada, which uses the therapeutic power of flowers to bring well-being and cheer to the community. Their goal is to re-purpose bouquets used at events of all kinds or in addition to flowers recovered from stores so as to make lovely arrangements and then distribute them throughout nursing homes or hospitals in the Greater Montreal Area. LRMM au féminin has taken on this endeavor to brighten up the day of many seniors, who unfortunately are often alone, which will take place on the day after Mother’s Day. |
