Michel Durand will be a speaker at the next symposium of the Association de planification fiscale et financière, to be held on February 8th at the Bonaventure Montreal Hotel and which will focus on trusts.
During his presentation, “La planification post-mortem : quand le droit fiscal rencontre le droit civil”, he will discuss post-mortem planning issues with Michel Beauchamp, Notary. The two speakers will highlight the potential obstacles posed by civil law. For example, the powers of the liquidator to make a pipeline transaction and potential solutions for a liquidator when the shares of a private corporation are subject to a legacy by particular title.
