Me Carnevale presented an overview of recent trends in franchise law in Quebec, including obligations of good faith in the pre-contractual phase and during contract performance, recognition of verbal franchise agreements, and the application of penalty and liquidated damages clauses. She also addressed recent legislative amendments in the area of French language compliance, which can have a significant impact on franchise operations in Quebec.
