Overview

Norman A. Rishikof was made partner at our firm in June 1979. He focuses his practice on cross-border transactions. Norman represents a broad range of companies making strategic acquisitions, institutional buyers, private equity funds and owner-operators implementing exit strategies. He has extensive experience in representing both buyers and sellers in the sale of businesses by way of auction. Moreover, he has acquired expertise in venture capital.

Norman has acted as lead counsel in many significant domestic and cross-border private transactions, notably for:

  • NVision, Inc. with respect to the acquisition by Miranda Technologies Inc. of all of its issued and outstanding shares.
  • Novacap II, Limited Partnership with respect to the acquisition of the Metro Logistics Group of Companies.
  • Mexx Canada Inc. with respect to the acquisition by Liz Clairborne (Canada) Limited of all its issued and outstanding shares.
  • Borealis Private Equity Limited Partnership and Borealis (QLP) Private Equity Limited Partnership with respect to the acquisition of the Greiche & Scaff Group of Companies.
  • Novacap II, Limited Partnership with respect to the acquisition by CK Life Sciences Int’l Inc. of the shares of Développement Naturelle A.G. Ltée held by Novacap II, Limited Partnership.
  • Shirmax Fashions Ltd. with respect to the acquisition by Reitmans (Canada) Limited of all its issued and outstanding shares.
  • Frisco Bay Industries Ltd. with respect to the acquisition by The Stanley Works of all its issued and outstanding shares.
  • Mission Hockey Company with respect to the acquisition of all the issued and outstanding shares of the I-Tech Hockey Group of Companies.
  • BHM Medical Inc. with respect to the acquisition by 614641 N.B. Inc., a subsidiary of Getinge AB (PUBL), of the issued and outstanding shares of BHM Medical Inc.
  • Groupe Paul Masson Inc. and its subsidiaries with respect to the acquisition by Vincor International Inc. of all their issued and outstanding shares.
  • Anamax Group of Companies with respect to the acquisition by Sanimal Inc. of all its issued and outstanding shares.
