Nicholas Backman practises law in our Commercial group. Prior to joining our team, Nicholas worked at a boutique law firm in Toronto.
A 2016 graduate of the McGill Faculty of Law, Nicholas was admitted to the Law Society of Ontario in 2017 and to the Quebec Bar in 2019. He obtained his M.B.A. degree from Queen’s University, where he was President of the Real Estate Club.
In his practice, Nicholas leverages his legal experience and his business training to help achieve his clients’ objectives. He advises numerous domestic and international businesses of all sizes and profiles. His areas of practice range from general corporate commercial services (including corporate re-organizations, share transactions and contract-drafting), mergers and acquisitions, real estate and equipment financing. Nicholas also regularly assists clients with complex negotiations and strategic discussions in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
