Irina Boldeanu joined our Litigation Law group in 2023.

Recognized the editions of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada® since 2024, Irina is a dedicated and results-driven litigation lawyer with a passion for complex civil and commercial disputes, including class actions defence and commercial litigation. She is particularly attuned to the needs of clients in the health, technology, and pharmaceutical sectors.

She brings a distinctive combination of legal acumen and scientific rigour to her practice, holding a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.), a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (B.Sc.). With a strong academic foundation in both law and biomedical science, Irina combines legal precision with a deep understanding of science-driven industries.

Irina regularly appears before the Superior Court of Quebec, the Court of Appeal of Quebec, and the Federal Court of Canada, handling matters involving expert testimony, motions for anonymity, procedural challenges, and strategic case planning in high-stakes litigation. She has contributed to major litigation files—including a $93M commercial dispute—and secured early discontinuances in consumer protection class action cases.

With prior experience at a leading law firms, Irina’s practice also includes drafting complex legal documents in intellectual property, life sciences and privacy law. Her scientific research background includes positions at McGill University and the CHUM Hospital, with peer-reviewed publications in fields such as coronary imaging, HIV-related cardiovascular risks, and intellectual property in the pharmaceutical field.

Irina is known for her intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking, and tenacious advocacy in and out of the courtroom. Her clients value her ability to quickly grasp the technical dimensions of a case while delivering strategic litigation advice grounded in commercial realities.
