Dikranian<\/a> was elected President of the English-Speaking Section of the Bar of Montreal. After organizing the very popular &#8220;Trial Practice Do&#8217;s and Don&#8217;ts&#8221; conference for four consecutive years, the members of the section voted unanimously in his favour.<\/p>\n<p>Harry hit the ground running and has already set to work in his new role. He first obtained permission from the widow of the late Justice Henry Steinberg, C.A., to develop a series of speeches with levity to be held every two months on the last Monday afternoon starting in September. The series will be entitled &#8220;Backstage at the Palace: Lived Experiences in the Law\u201c. It will focus on the various experiences of jurists &#8220;Backstage at the Palace&#8221;, thus a tribute to the book of the same title written by Judge Steinberg. The first Zoom presentation will be on September 21st (September 28<sup>th<\/sup> is Yom Kippur) and Ms. Janice Steinberg will introduce M<sup>e<\/sup> Julius Grey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Save the Date: The 12th edition of &#8220;Trial Practice Do&#8217;s and Don&#8217;ts&#8221;!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This conference will take place on Thursday, November 12 and, as in the past, it will be held at the Salle Jules Desch\u00eanes (Room 5.15) of the Montreal Courthouse. In addition, in order to respect social distancing, a digital broadcast by registration will also be available.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Pandemic Pleading: 2020 Best Practices and the Courts&#8217; Swift Technological Shift&#8221; will be the subject with the following confirmed speakers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Judge Martin Sheehan S.C. of the Civil Chamber<\/li>\n<li>Judge Suzanne Costom, C.Q., Criminal Division<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Neil Oberman, Partner, Spiegel Sohmer<\/li>\n<li>M<sup>e<\/sup> Sabine Uwitonze, Community Legal Centre and President of the Young Bar Association of Montreal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hope to see you there!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 On Wednesday, July 15, Harry H.
