This was the topic addressed at the cocktail conference organized for our clients last June 13<sup>th<\/sup> by the litigation and labour law practice groups.<\/p>\n<p>Diane B\u00e9rard, well-known blogger and columnist for<em> Les Affaires<\/em>, spoke to those in attendance about this new way for businesses to communicate, share, exchange and develop their brand.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/en-CA\/Team\/Attorneys\/Lawyer+Tessier+H%C3%A9l%C3%A8ne\" rel=\"noopener\">H\u00e9l\u00e8ne B. Tessier<\/a>, partner and head of the litigation group, prepared a list of the most important social media rules to be followed. This list was distributed out to the attendees.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/en-CA\/Team\/Attorneys\/Lawyer+Melchiorre+Antonietta\" rel=\"noopener\">Antonietta Melchiorre<\/a>, partner and also head of the litigation group, explained the importance of creating a social media-related policy in order to avoid conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/en-CA\/Team\/Attorneys\/Lawyer+Caron+Jacquelin\" rel=\"noopener\">Jacquelin Caron<\/a>, partner with the firm, also presented a legal information capsule entitled \u201cL\u2019utilisation des m\u00e9dias sociaux affecte-t-elle votre expectative de vie priv\u00e9e?\u201d (Does the use of social media affect your expectation of privacy?).<\/p>\n<p>The presentations were followed by a cocktail during which the speakers answered questions from the attendees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Social media: where to start, what to do?
