Dikranian<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"\/en-CA\/team\/attorneys\/lawyer-rahal-alexa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexa Rahal<\/a>, delivered the opening conference at the annual Association des estimateurs et des \u00e9conomistes de la construction du Qu\u00e9bec (AE\u00c9CQ) convention, which took place on May 23<sup>rd<\/sup>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Entitled &#8220;Artificial Intelligence and Liability, a Delicate Balance&#8221;, their talk examined the legal framework governing artificial intelligence (AI). They provided examples taken from international authors and Canadian jurisprudence.<\/p>\n<p>Recent developments in AI, while very promising, come with a certain level of risk. Our attorneys shed light on potential legal solutions by discussing the general principles of civil liability and its application in cases involving AI.<\/p>\n<p>The speakers would like to thank <a href=\"\/en-CA\/team\/articling-students-students\/labrecque-sophie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sophie Labrecque<\/a>, articling student, for her valuable contributions.<\/p>\n<p>This collaboration with the AE\u00c9CQ follows a partnership established last February during the conference &#8220;<a href=\"\/en-CA\/what-s-new\/conferences\/2019\/julien-grenier-sarah-laplante-bazzi-conference-aee-cq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Estimation et soumission formelle et recours en dommages ou injonction<\/a>&#8221; given by Sarah Laplante Bazzi and Julien Grenier.<br \/> \u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/CMS\/MediaFree\/image\/Conf%C3%A9rence%20IA%20H_%20Dikranian_A_Rahal.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"204\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two attorneys from our firm, Harry H.
