Michel G. M\u00e9nard joined our firm in 1985. He has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation, in claims as well as in defence. He represents, among others, franchising systems, real estate lessors and owners, large construction companies, condominium syndicates, trustees in bankruptcy, and corporations of all sizes. His experience, notably in the realization of securities, has led him to teach security law at Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al from 1992 to 2006. He is also a speaker for several organizations, such as Insight, the American Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Association qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise de planification fiscale et successorale.<\/p>\n
Michel has pleaded before all provincial and federal authorities, including several cases before the Quebec Court of Appeal. He has pleaded before the Supreme Court of Canada on behalf of Nav Canada in a matter pertaining to the rights of the latter to seize and detain aircraft for unpaid duties, against the rights of title owners. He has represented the Union des municipalit\u00e9s du Qu\u00e9bec before the R\u00e9gie de l\u2019\u00e9nergie.<\/p>\n
Michel has solid experience in arbitration and mediation.
