Overview

Yasmine Shadman is an analytical, practical and creative lawyer practising business law within the firm’s commercial law, mergers and acquisitions and licensing and technology groups, with a particular focus on share and asset transactions and franchising matters.

As part of her practice, Yasmine is involved in negotiating and drafting agreements in the context of complex local and cross-border M&A transactions, as well as agreements relating to licensing, franchising and other general commercial law matters. She assists numerous domestic and international businesses of all sizes operating in a diverse range of industries, including in retail, fashion, food, manufacturing and aviation. Yasmine is also involved in advising clients on a variety of regulatory issues, such as privacy, e-commerce, social media, marketing, advertising, intellectual property, consumer protection and Quebec French language requirements. She also assists international clients with respect to Canadian business practices and regulatory compliance with Canadian law.

Yasmine holds a Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor with a Minor Concentration in French Literature from McGill University, where she acted as chair of a committee modeled after an international tribunal at the McGill Model United Nations Assembly (McMUN) and volunteered in numerous legal clinics.

Committed to cultivating her expertise and keeping abreast of legal and commercial trends, Yasmine has written about franchising matters (as co-author) for various international publications.
