Roland Massicotte has been practicing in our Labour Law group since 1981. For more than 35 years, he has represented corporate clients before all labour tribunals, from administrative to common law courts. Throughout his career, he has been called upon by many companies to act as chief negotiator for the purposes of negotiating numerous collective agreements.
Roland provides judicious advice to executive management on all matters relating to employee relations (whether unionized or not), occupational health and safety issues, labour relations, the interpretation of the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms (federal and provincial) as well as the many recourses provided by various pieces of labour legislation, at both the federal and provincial levels, including claims for sexual or psychological harassment and discrimination.
He also advises the firm’s corporate clients on labour issues arising from commercial transactions, corporate reorganizations, recovery programs, pre-retirement programs, and mass layoffs.
Roland has taught labour law and the negotiation of collective agreements, and has given lectures on various topics related to labour relations at conferences and seminars.
